What I learned Meditating 320 days last year!
Well, I lead 40 day meditations, so I have to do them LOL….not all days were ‘easy’: I showed up, took the seat, witnessed my process.
All days were not ‘perfect’. Some days I forced myself, somedays I fought myself, somedays my mind wandered. Some days it was ‘perfect’.
So I led 8, 40 day meditations last year (2018)….in between I did Yoga Nidra at least 3x a week….Everyone asks me Why?
I think the reason I keep going (I’ve been practicing yoga/meditation since 1994), sometimes it’s out of habit. What would I do without my meditations? Who am I without my Yoga/Meditation practice? It is such a part of my Ego-Identity now. My daughter can tell when I haven’t done my Sadhana (daily spiritual practice). I think I do it for her.
I am more even-minded, more present, able to ‘watch my thoughts’, observe myself, ‘label’ what’s going on. Basically I can observe myself better. I don’t re-act as much. Does that mean I don’t get ‘triggered’? No, It means I say “Wow, that is triggering me”….haha
So, It’s Jan. 8th and I’m on day 8 of Japji, again….I start out every year with this 40 day meditation (chant) that ‘sets my year’. I’m not sure how much we control in life. But I Love my Yoga/Meditation practice. And I do love sharing it with you.
